Kings Kids

Kids are an integral part of life at King’s Church, and our heart is to see each child encounter God and have a passion to live for Him throughout their lives! We want them to know how much they are loved and develop a close relationship with Jesus, to hear him speak, know the power he has for each of us today and influence the world around them through his love.

We have lots of fun gathering together on Sunday mornings. This time together includes music storytelling from the Bible, games and creative activities.

Before going to their aged-based groups, all children join in for some of the worship time with their family. They are invited to join their age groups after a couple of songs where they are signed in by a parent or guardian.

Our King’s Kids groups provide a safe and friendly environment in which our kids can grow and develop friendships with other children.

We love having visitors!
pitoitoi
(North Island Robin) - Creche
These birds have been said to bring good news. We want our pepe and Tamariki to know the Good news of Jesus and from an early age be confident in sharing this news.
Pitoitoi is our King’s creche where we love to introduce Jesus into all our play, recreate stories, make joyful noises and be creative.

korimako
(Bellbird) - 3 - 5 year olds
They are known for their beautiful singing and we would love our tamariki to have Gods songs on their heart and from a young age be passionate about worshiping their God.
This is a wonderful and lively group who are just starting to spread their wings in prayer and worship. We are looking to develop this further and be aware of God's love for us.
Centered around a Bible story we encourage the children to actively seek Jesus, to hear him, love and worship him through a variety of creative activities, making music and games.

pukeko
(Swamp Hen) - 5 - 8 year olds
They are known for their boldness and determination. We want our tamariki to grow bold in Christ and be determined and confident to follow Jesus.
Bible stories and truths are central to this group and explored through drama, games and crafts. The kids are encouraged to develop their own relationship with Jesus and express this through worship and prayer.

We love for them to go into His presence with boldness and determination.

kereru
(Swamp Hen) - 5 - 8 year olds
Their feathers were used to make cloaks which means they were treasured. We want our tamariki to wear God/Jesus on their cloaks wherever they go and know that God treasures them.
The Kereru group learn about the Bible in greater depth, exploring different themes each term. Their time also includes games, discussion and prayer. Kereru also has occasional social activities outside of church, where they get to have fun and get to know each other, make and eat yummy food and play games.

Each term we have a Praise Party to celebrate all that we have learnt through the term, and to have fun as an all-ages group.

During the school holidays the Pitoitoi (crèche) runs as usual, the others meet together for all age fun and games or workshops.
